Robert McLAUGHLIN married two RUSMISEL girls. First he married Martha Melvinia RUSMISEL, daughter of Christian RUSMISEL, and they had (at least) 9 children. Then he married her niece, Mary Lydia Virginia RUSMISEL, daughter of George B. RUSMISEL, son of Christian. They had (at least) 5 children.

In Nov. 1888 Martha and George's sister Miriam had a lawsuit that named the children at that time of her sister Martha:

I was able to find them all on the Censuses except Bersa. I am guessing that Miriam M is Mary M on the Censuses and and Nebraska E is probably Bessie E.

Robert and Martha married 2 Oct 1866 in Augusta County, Virginia.

Lawsuit of Miriam PROPS

This is a lawsuit abstracted by Mrs. William Bushman, a long-time genealogist in Augusta County, Virginia, who said "This was apparently a friendly suit brought to insure that Miriam Props would receive the estate of her mother since she had taken complete care of her mother for the five years she had been ill."
